The Children’s Hospital at Westmead

The new Children’s Hospital at Westmead has been designed to create a warm, welcoming environment that supports comfort, well-being and recovery for young patients and their families. Inspired by nature, each level features its own theme, incorporating earthy tones, playful colours and immersive feature walls that move away from the feel of a traditional clinical setting.

Integrated throughout the hospital, CS supplied CRT timber crash rails, HRWS timber handrails, Acrovyn door protection and Acrovyn corner guards to help preserve interior finishes across high-traffic areas. The natural timber elements bring warmth and texture to corridors and patient spaces, balancing durability with a softer, more calming aesthetic.

Delivered in collaboration with Billard Leece Partnership, Roberts Co and C&H, the project demonstrates how protective building products can contribute to a healthcare environment that feels supportive, engaging and thoughtfully designed for children and families alike.
