About the Project

The UCLA Health Training Centre, a 1,158-square-meter training facility, is home to the historic Los Angeles Lakers basketball team. The complex provides players and staff with an indoor/outdoor lounge, training room, resistance pool, weight room, two second-floor courts, and even a barbershop. The world-renowned facility was designed with excellence in mind, so the implementation of CS custom sunshades to the exterior facade was a perfect fit. These custom sunshades not only add a spectacular visual from the outside of the building, but also significantly enhance interior sustainability by reducing direct sunlight—a wonderful solution for a city known for its near-constant sunshine. By collaborating with CS, architects were able to enhance the building's exterior appearance and simultaneously increase interior comfort. A win-win!
